TRUE INSPIRATION AWARDS | REMARKABLE FUTURES SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Since 2021, I’ve had the pleasure to work with Chick-fil-A's Corporate Social Responsibility team, and I continue to collaborate with them today, focusing on two of their flagship programs: The True Inspiration Awards and the Remarkable Futures Scholarship Program. The True Inspiration Awards provide grants to outstanding non-profits making a meaningful impact in their communities, while the Remarkable Futures Scholarship Program offers scholarships of up to $25,000 to Chick-fil-A Team Members nationwide. Below are examples of my work and contributions to these programs, and it remains a privilege to support such impactful initiatives.

MY ROLES IN THESE PROJECTS

Concept / Art Direction / Graphic Design / Set Assistance

EDDIE WHITE AWARD
In 2023, Chick-fil-A's Corporate Social Responsibility team wanted to commemorate 50 years of scholarships by awarding a special $50,000 scholarship to a deserving Team Member. They also saw this as an opportunity to celebrate the program’s legacy by having Eddie White, the very first scholarship recipient, present the award to that year’s winner, Malcolm. As I learned about Eddie and Malcolm’s journeys, I noticed striking similarities—both are Black men from large families, driven by a passion for education. Inspired by their stories, I pitched the idea of a sit-down conversation between them, where Eddie could share wisdom with Malcolm, emphasizing the value of mentor-mentee relationships. Eddie was a joy to work with, and I’m grateful to have had the pleasure of meeting him.

TEAM MEMBER MURAL CELEBRATION
For the 2023 Scholarship Program, my team and I were tasked with awarding scholarships to 13 Team Members across 12 different states—all in just 4 days. Thanks to the incredible coordination by our producer and project manager, we were able to pull off this ambitious schedule. The production team and I focused on crafting and capturing the perfect surprise at each location. But we had one more surprise in store. I personally interviewed each Team Member to learn about their dreams for the future, and then collaborated with a mural artist to bring those dreams to life in a mural at Chick-fil-A headquarters.

PLANTING PARTY
SADI is an organization dedicated to supporting young adults with disabilities. When brainstorming ways to surprise them with the news of their $350,000 grant award, I focused on their future plans. The SADI director, Donna, mentioned in her submission that they want to build a sensory garden. This inspired to develop the idea of a "Planting Party" as a cover for Chick-fil-A being at their facility. As someone who loves plants, it was a joy to craft this experience for the SADI attendees and be part of something so meaningful.

HIDDEN CAMERA SURPRISE
In 2020, Chick-fil-A committed to award $5 million in grants to qualifying nonprofits that are either Black-led or serving primarily Black communities or other communities of color. The DuBois Integrity Academy in Riverdale, GA. was selected as the S. Truett Cathy honoree for their excellence in serving the youth of their community. To celebrate them, I worked with Chick-fil-A's In-House agency to stage an event where we surprised the founder of the academy, Mr. Greg Cason, with a $350,000 grant for his nonprofit.   I was the creative lead on this project -- designing set pieces, crafting storyboards, and working with the production team to make sure everything goes to plan. I also developed various social media extensions to not only celebrate the DuBois Integrity Academy, but the many other nonprofits who received smaller grants.
